Cryogenics Training

Callisto was pleased to welcome members of the maintenance teams from ESA Deep Space Antennas to our offices in Labastide for training on cryogenic low noise amplifiers systems. Two consecutive courses of one week duration each were organised in the first half of December. In this period four engineers from Cebreros and four engineers from New Norcia deep space stations were trained.

·        d'étudier le marché des récepteurs satellites maritimes.


·        de réaliser l'état de l'art des modules de refroidissement à élément Peltier disponibles actuellement sur le marché.


·        d'évaluer les performances RF de l'amplificateur faible bruit refroidit compte tenu des technologies dont nous disposons.


·        et finalement d'entrevoir la conception d'un prototype de test.

Two new X Band compact cryogenic low noise amplifiers for the CNES

Communications & Network Engineering Support

In addition to having a University degree (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline, ideal candidates shall have 5 years experience in administration and troubleshooting of networks in distributed systems. The experience shall have been made in an operational or production environment.

Ground Station Maintenance Engineer

We are currently seeking to recruit an additional engineer for our client based in Germany.


 


In addition to having a University degree (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline, ideal candidates should have experience the following area:



  • Ground Station Design /integration /testing

  • Large antennas and tracking systems including Antenna Control Unit/ Tracking receivers

  • TTC baseband equipment ( including ranging systems)

  • High Data Rate Demodulators

  • Maintenance and operation of large ground stations including site infrastructure

  • Local and remote Monitoring & Control of large ground station and related databases and automated procedures

  • Antenna, ACU for LEO satellites.

Final Presentation of 26 GHz Study

The final presentation of the results of a study into the use of the 26 GHz Frequency band for ESA ground stations was held at ESOC, Darmstadt, 31st October 2007. The presentation was given Callisto as prime contractor for the study supported representatives from the University of Pavia and ERA Technology. The feasibility study investigated the upgrade of ESA Deep-Space Antenna network to support the newly allocated frequency band for Space Research missions in the range 25.5 to 27 GHz.
