ESA has recently completed the replacement of all X-band cryo LNAs in its Deep Space Antennas with upgraded models. The original cryo LNAs which were all built and delivered by Callisto in the period 2000 to 2009 are being offered for refurbishment and re-sale. The refurbishment activity will be undertaken by Callisto and will include the replacement of the cryogenic components (cold head, compressor and gas lines), renewal of all vacuum seals and completed RF retest. The systems will be supplied with LNA power supplies, data logging unit and monitoring software. The RF circuits include bandpass filters which could be removed for customers requiring extended RF bandwidth e.g. for radio-astronomy or VLBI. Outline technical details of the equipment are provided in the attached data sheet.
The BKG (Bundesamt für Kartographie und Geodäsie) staff has received a training from Callisto on operation and maintenance of the Triband X,S,Ka cryo-LNA system recently delivered by Callisto. Four people attended this 2-days training course, mainly electrical and mechanical engineers and managers.
We are very happy to announce a successful FAT for our most recent project with Bundesamt für Kartographie und Geodäsie (BKG) to equip one of their antennas at the Wettzell site.
Callisto has already supplied the cryo LNAs sub-systems for the previous two deep space stations, the first (DSA1) located in Western Australia and the second (DSA2) located in Spain.DSA3 is to be built near the small town of Malargue in Mendoza province about 1000 km west of Buenos Aires.
ESA uses cryogenic LNAs for its deep space telecommunications networkand has decided to upgrade the design of its X-Band cryogenic LNAs with new thermal and RF components to improve performance and long-term reliability.
Callisto is please to announce the award of a new contract by the CNES.The contract is concerned with the supply in October 2008 of two compact X band (8.0-8.5GHz) cryogenic low noise amplifiers (LNAs) for STEREO satellite ground station.
Callisto is please to announce the award of two new contracts work orders by the European Space Agency at the beginning of 2008.The contracts are concerned with the development of new cryogenic low noise amplifiers (LNAs) for satellite ground stations.
Callisto is proud to announce further work orders with ESOC for 2006 : the provision of a set of three cryogenic X Band LNAs for the Kourou ESTRACK station. ESOC requires to improve the G/T of the Kourou 15m ESTRACK antenna in X Band to be able to support Deep Space missions. By using the 77K compact cryo LNA the G/T should be improved by between 1.5 and 2dB.
