Callisto wins contract to supply QRFH Ultra Cryogenic Receiver for VLBI to the Bundesamt für Kartographie und Geodäsie (BKG)

Callisto is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by the Bundesamt für Kartographie und Geodäsie to supply QRFH Ultra Cryogenic Receiver for VLBI (Very Long Baseline Interferometry) application. BKG is responsible in Germany as a federal office for tographical basic data, cartography and geodesic reference systems.

The receiver will be installed on a VLBI telescope located at Bundesamt für Kartographie und Geodäsie, the BKG Fundamentalstation, of the Wettzel Observatory in Germany. It includes a wideband feed horn cooled to cryogenic temperature along with LNAs, and covers the [2.3 - 14] GHz band.

Callisto has started the development of the protoptype of its new Ultra QRFH Cryogenic receiver for VLBI. This product will complete the QRFH cryogenic receivers offer from Callisto with state-of-the-art technologies in wideband RF cryogenic receivers and ultimate Noise Temperature (NT) performance, whereas the Compact version (now in production) offers the best NT for the lowest power consumption, the lowest maintenance cost and the more compact enveloppe of the market.
