Callisto is pleased to have been awarded a three year consultancy contract from EUMETSAT to provided engineering consultancy on the EUMETSAT satellite Ground Station network.
The award of this contract will extend the involvement with the development and operation of EUMETSAT’s Ground Stations which Callisto has had since 1993.
Callisto has been involved in all of the major projects for Ground Stations used to support European meteorological satellites operated by EUMETSAT.
These include :
- the MTP Primary Ground Station in Fucino, Italy;
- the MTP backup Ground Station in Cheia, Romania;
- the MSG Primary Ground Station in Usingen, Germany;
- the MSG backup Ground Station in Maspalomas, Spain;
- and the EPS control and data acquisition Ground Station in Svalbard, Norway.
The new contract will cover some critical activities at the EPS Ground Station leading up to the launch of this new and first European polar weather satellite, which is currently scheduled for summer 2006.
